Registration now open for 2021 RCA National Conference

Registration for the 2021 Rowing Canada Aviron National Conference and Semi-Annual Meeting is now open with an exciting line-up of speakers and topics you don’t want to miss!

The annual conference will be held virtually from January 28 to 31, 2021, with the Semi-Annual Meeting taking place on January 31. The conference was designed with our entire community in mind, including sessions for rowers and community leaders such as coaches, umpires and administrators.

Olympic rower, former diplomat, business coach and author, Cath Bishop will open Saturday’s program with The Long Win: Redefining Success to Create Inclusive Growth in Our Sport, a keynote session that will examine the culture shift and healthy growth environment needed in order to create a more inclusive and welcoming environment to diversify and grow rowing.

Bishop’s first book ‘The Long Win: The Search for a Better Way to Succeed’, published October 2020, was described by the Financial Times as “a deep and rewarding exploration of human motivation in sport, politics, business and our personal lives” and was listed in their Top 10 Business Books for 2020.

In addition, Erin Davis from Catalyst will be joining us to discuss ‘Taking Action to Break a Climate of Silence’. Speaking up is instrumental to the success of our Safe Sport initiatives. Join us for this session and learn how you can take action as a leader to break through a climate of silence.

Registration is FREE* for all members of Rowing Canada Aviron. Non-members can also join sessions for a small fee through our registration system.

In conjunction with the conference, RCA will be virtually celebrating the annual RCA Excellence Awards. It is an opportunity to recognize the outstanding achievements and contributions of our rowing community, particularly during this challenging year. Nominations are now open and winners will be announced in January.

Full conference details, including schedule and registration information, can be found on the RCA website. Deadline for registration is January 18, 2021.
