New Canadian Safe Sport Program Rules Now in Effect – April 1, 2025
- Mar 31, 2025
Dear Members,
As of April 1, 2025, the new Canadian Safe Sport Program (CSSP) will replace the Abuse-Free Sport program. Rowing Canada Aviron (RCA) has adopted this new program committed to advancing a respectful sport culture, delivering quality, inclusive, accessible, and welcoming experiences. An overview of key changes, including the RCA participants affected by these changes can be found here. The Independent Third-Party (ITP) for rowing mechanism remains in effect for all other individuals and other matters with jurisdiction outside of the CSSP.
RCA will notify participants who are subject to the CSSP and will provide access to information for the mandatory e-learning course and consent forms.
Effective today, RCA has updated our Safe Sport policies to reflect these changes. For more information about RCA Safe Sport initiatives, click here.
We ask that you update your online platforms by removing any references to Abuse Free Sport and the Office of the Sport Integrity Commissioner (OSIC) and to direct your members to the File A Complaint section of the RCA website for up to date information: https://rowingcanada.org/safe-sport/#file-a-complaint
