Volunteer Opportunities

Whether you’re passionate about coaching, event organization, administrative tasks, or simply being a supportive presence at a club, there are numerous ways to get involved and make a positive impact. Volunteering with a Rowing Canada Aviron (RCA) Member Club or Organization not only allows you to contribute to the growth of the sport but also provides an opportunity to form lasting connections with fellow enthusiasts.

If you are interested in learning more about becoming a rowing volunteer or have any questions about the process, please don’t hesitate to contact Alethia Clarke at aclarke@rowingcanada.org. Alethia will guide you through the steps to connect with a local RCA Member Club and help you find a role that suits your skills and interests.

Canada Summer Jobs Applicant Guide

Canada Summer Jobs (CSJ) is a program under the Youth Employment and Skills Strategy, which aims to provide flexible and holistic services to help all young Canadians develop the skills and gain paid work experience to successfully transition into the labour market.

The CSJ program objectives align with the Youth Employment and Skills Strategy and are as follows:

  • provide quality work experiences for youth
  • respond to national and local priorities to improve access to the labour market for youth who face unique barriers
  • provide opportunities for youth to develop and improve their skills

The program provides wage subsidies to employers from not-for-profit organizations and the public sector, as well as private sector organizations with 50 or fewer full-time employees, to create quality summer work experiences for young people aged 15 to 30 years.

The Government of Canada aims to ensure that all CSJ funded job opportunities take place in a safe, inclusive, and healthy work environment free from harassment and discrimination.

To support Service Canada in screening and assessing the eligibility and quality of each project, the Application Form collects information from you such as:

  • your organization’s health and safety practices
  • work environment policies
  • supervision and mentoring plans
  • skills development plan
  • other details related to both your organization and the proposed job(s)

You can apply from November 21, 2023 to January 10, 2024 at 11:59 p.m., Pacific Standard Time.

Applications received or postmarked after the deadline date will not be considered.
