The Niagara Region to host the RCA National Rowing Championships and the RCA Canadian Masters Championships in 2024

Rowing Canada Aviron (RCA) is pleased to announce the RCA National Rowing Championships (NRC’s) will be held from Friday, October 11 through Sunday, October 13 on the traditional ancestral territories of the Hatiwendaronk, Haudenosaunee, and the Anishinaabe at the Welland International Flatwater Centre (WIFC), the premier flatwater facility in the heart of the Niagara Region.
The City of Welland’s Supervisor of Festival and Events Recreation, Erin Carl, is excited to welcome back the nation’s rowing community to the WIFC, which last hosted NRC’s in 2013.
“The team at the Welland International Flatwater Centre looks forward to hosting the 2024 RCA National Rowing Championships in October,” said Carl. “The City of Welland is excited to welcome athletes, coaches, and rowing families from across Canada to compete. We are thrilled to be partnering with RCA to deliver such a prestige regatta. Welcome to Welland!”
RCA is also announcing that for a second year in a row, the Royal Canadian Henley Regatta Committee will host the 2024 RCA Canadian Masters Championships, as part of the Henley Masters Event taking place on Sunday, July 28, in St. Catharines, Ontario, on the traditional territory of the Haudenosaunee and Anishinaabe peoples.
“Rowing is a sport for life and the RCA Canadian Masters Championships are truly a testament to that fact with hundreds of RCA alumni and newcomers to the sport coming together, united by water,” said Serge Paquin, Commission of the Royal Canadian Henley Regatta Committee). “We look forward to welcoming our Masters’ rowers and hosting another high calibre event.”
The 140th edition of the Royal Canadian Henley takes place from July 28 to August 4, a week earlier than usual, as the famous Martindale Waterways will welcome the international rowing community to the 2024 World Rowing U19, U23, and Senior Championships August 18-25.
