The Rowing Canada Aviron (RCA) Provincial Advisory Council (PAC) is seeking a skilled and dynamic leader to serve as Provincial Director on the RCA Board of Directors.
RCA is the national governing body for the sport of rowing in Canada and is a Not-for-Profit organization with qualified donor status as a registered Canadian amateur athletic association (RCAAA). RCA serves a broad constituency of approximately 13,000 participants from over 150 member clubs and associations across the country and is proud to be one of Canada’s top-performing Summer Olympic sports.
The Provincial Director is the Chair of PAC, reports on PAC activities to the RCA Board, attends meetings in person and via conference call, and is expected to fulfill all the fiduciary and governance responsibilities of a full member of the RCA Board.
As per section 11.4 in the RCA Bylaws, the PAC will put forward an individual for the position of Provincial Director. The PAC is currently accepting expressions of interest to fill the Provincial Director role on the RCA Board of Directors for a three-year term.
The PAC is looking for an individual who will bring diverse experience and a strong provincial perspective to the Board and PAC, and who is excited to be actively involved and engaged in a dynamic organization. This is an extraordinary opportunity for someone passionate about RCA’s Vision, Values, and Strategic Priorities.
Candidates will have demonstrated leadership in one or more of the following:
• Previous leadership experience with a Provincial Rowing Association (e.g., provincial committee, provincial board, or similar role)
• Strategy Execution
• Finance
• Government Relations
• Governance (Board Experience)
• Philanthropy (Capital Campaign Experience)
*Assets: finance designations (CPA, CFA, CFP, CIM) and governance experience/credentials (e.g., not-for-profit board service, ICD.D, GPC.D).
In addition to the qualifications described in the RCA Director Profile, candidates will have strong diplomatic skills and a natural affinity for cultivating relationships, convening, facilitating, and building consensus among diverse individuals, along with personal qualities of integrity, credibility, and a passionate enthusiasm for improving the lives of RCA’s members and participants.
