Join us on the Row to Tokyo

Our exploration of The Great Indoors initiative continues next month with the Row to Tokyo Team Challenge, an event that will see teams of individuals from across the country collectively rowing, on ergometers, the approximate distance from the National Training Centre (NTC) on Vancouver Island to the site of the 2020 Olympic and Paralympic Games in Tokyo (7575km).

From April 19 to May 2, teams can submit their metres rowed online. The team that contributes the most kilometres to the overall distance will win the grand prize of a Concept2 ergometer for their club as well as an RCA merchandise item for each team member.

Team registration is NOW OPEN until April 16. Teams can consist of up to six people, and composite teams made up of members from different RCA clubs are also allowed. Teams must indicate which club they are representing upon registration. Teams of non-RCA members can represent CrossFit gyms. All participants must be registered for The Great Indoors and reside in Canada.

The Great Indoors is an initiative that was launched in February with the aim of growing and promoting the discipline of indoor rowing in Canada. Canadians can sign up to join RCA’s indoor rowing community, which is centred around an online hub for resources, news and events, here.
