Introducing New Members of the Rowing Canada Aviron Board of Directors

Rowing Canada Aviron (RCA) held its Annual Meeting last night where the RCA Member Club delegates voted to elect two new members to the organization’s Board of Directors. Tracey Black (Toronto, ON) and Jane Stamp (Guelph, ON) were elected to the RCA Board and will serve terms until 2027.

Following the Call for Expression of Interest, under the terms of Section 11 of the RCA Bylaws, the RCA Nominating Committee submitted to the membership and initial slate of candidates for the Board of Directors to be elected at the 2024 RCA Annual Meeting in accordance with paragraph 11.6.

Members in good standing were able to submit further nominations for election to the Board of Directors, provided such nominations meet the eligibility requirements set out in paragraph 9.3 and are received by the registered office of RCA in the form set out in paragraphs 11.7 and 11.8 no later than 30 days prior to the Annual Meeting. Before the 2nd closing for nominations, 4 candidates, who were endorsed by two member clubs or associations, submitted their names to stand for election.

After the period of voting, the delegates elected the above two incoming Board Members to replace outgoing Directors at Large, Paul C.L. Fritz-Németh and Fred Ens

Carol Purcer, RCA President, thanked the outgoing board members and shared a special thank you to Paul and Fred. “Paul put his name forward when this organization was managing a tumultuous time. He actively contributed as a team member right from the start. I personally appreciate your ideas and suggestions to improve this organization. We wish you the best, Paul, and please keep involved.”

Carol goes on to also thank Fred for his time on the Board. “I would like to thank Fred Ens for his deep commitment as a Director of the RCA Board. Going forward, I hope that you continue to be engaged in our organization and share your many talents with us.”

With the results of the election announced, Carol shared a welcome to the new Board members saying, “congratulations, Tracy and Jane. We are looking forward to your contributions to the RCA Board over the next three years.”
