Ready to start the new year with a new challenge? The Challenger Series opens today! Whether this is your first time on an indoor rowing machine or your thousandth, this series is for you.
The Challenger Series consists of six challenges (1 minute, 2 minutes, 15 minutes, 100m, 1,000m, 10,000m) that can be completed at any time between January 9 and February 28 and in any order. Each challenge will have its own leaderboard!
If you complete all six challenges within the entry period of January 9 to February 28, you will receive a limited edition The Great Indoors medal! There will also be opportunities with each challenge to win RCA swag. Competitors within the top 20 of their self-identified gender category at the end of the Challenger Series will be entered into a draw to win a Great Indoors water bottle and an RCA t-shirt.
Don’t make the top 20? Not to worry! All participants who complete the challenges will also be entered into a random draw for RCA merch. Looking for even more draw entries? Take a picture or video of yourself completing one of the challenges, post it to social media and tag RCA (@rowingcanada) for an extra entry!
Our Challenger Series is designed to complement our two training programs that anyone can complete, whether you are preparing for the 2023 World Rowing Indoor Championships taking place in Mississauga, Toronto in February, or just getting started on an indoor rowing machine.
Upon registration, each participant will receive two indoor rowing training programs, New to Rowing: 4 Weeks to 2km and Intermediate: Improve Your 2km Time.
The cost to participate in the Challenger Series is $25. As our goal is to expand access to rowing and reduce barriers to participation, if the fee to participate is a concern, please contact aclarke@rowingcanada.org for more information.
