Safe Sport continues to be an evolving area of focus for all sport in Canada and it remains one of RCA’s top priorities. Collectively we can ensure rowing in Canada is protected and, as a result, all participants are able to thrive because we have created a safe and welcoming environment free of abuse, maltreatment, harassment and discrimination.

We are now entering the next phase of implementation of the Harmonized Approach: club/special association adoption and implementation. This webinar will build on the information related to the Pan-Canadian Safe Sport Policy Manual and the harmonized approach that was provided to the RCA Membership in January 2021 and May 2021. Topics that will be addressed include:

• RCA By-Laws – Proposed amendments to the By-Laws (for voting at the 2022 Semi-Annual Meeting, January 2022)
• What to expect – Support and training
• Key dates and upcoming implementation timelines

Time will be allocated so attendees may ask questions and provide feedback.

It is imperative that our entire rowing community work together to address Safe Sport and RCA requests that all member organizations ensure a representative attends this session. Please ensure individuals in the following roles attend:

• Your organization’s Safe Sport Lead
• An individual designated to oversee voting matters for the RCA Semi-Annual Meeting
