Canada’s Senior Men’s National Team delivered an impressive performance at the Holland Beker regatta in Amsterdam, Netherlands, securing two gold medals and two second place finishes in their first international competition of the season.

Meanwhile, at the World Rowing Cup in Lucerne, Switzerland, Katie Clark achieved a strong fourth-place result in the Women’s Single Sculls, marking her second appearance on the international stage. The Women’s Four also competed in Lucerne, finishing second in the B Final and placing eighth overall in the event.

The weekend began with a strong showing from Team Canada at World Cup Lucerne. On Friday, Katie Clark secured first place in her heat with a time of 7:42.28, advancing to the semifinals. The Women’s Four, featuring Caroline De Paiva, Alexis Cronk, Cassidy Deane, and Brenna Randall, finished fourth in their heat with a time of 6:35.67.

Saturday brought more success for Canadian rowers at the Holland Beker in Amsterdam. The Men’s Four dominated Final A, finishing in 5:56.75—an impressive ten seconds ahead of their competitors. The Men’s Double also delivered a strong performance, taking second place in Final A with a time of 6:38.92. In Lucerne, Katie Clark finished her semifinal race in 7:28.38, completing the race in second place and advancing to the Final A. With these results, each team is prepared to build on their momentum as they headed into a similar racing schedule on Sunday.

On Sunday, June 29th, the final day of the Rowing World Cup in Lucerne saw impressive performances from the Canadian rowing team. In the Women’s Single Sculls Final A race, Clark made significant strides, finishing fourth overall with a time of 07:23.92. She closely trailed behind competitors from Germany, Ireland, and Denmark.

Meanwhile, excitement continued across the continent in Amsterdam, where the Men’s Four crew secured their second gold medal of the weekend. They dominated the race with a time of 5:57.69, finishing a solid ten seconds ahead. The Men’s Double Sculls also delivered a strong performance, missing gold by two seconds and finishing with a time of 6:20.22, just behind the Netherlands team.

Looking ahead, the Senior Men’s National Team is gearing up to maintain their momentum at the Royal Henley Regatta in England, which begins the week of July 1st. Meanwhile, the Senior Women’s National Team is returning to Canada to begin preparations for the World Championship Selection. Both teams are focused on building on their recent successes and representing Canada on the international stage.
