Rowing Canada Aviron Welcomes Sander Grieve, K.C. to Board of Directors


Rowing Canada Aviron (RCA) is pleased to announce the appointment of Sander Grieve, K.C., to its Board of Directors.

The Board of Directors has appointed Sander to the Director at Large role, made vacant due to Tracey Black’s recent election to the role of President. Sander will serve on the Board until September 2027, bringing extensive professional expertise and a strong commitment to governance and community leadership.

For more than 25 years, Sander has practiced as a corporate lawyer in Toronto. His work entails corporate governance, securities, and mergers and acquisitions. Additionally, he served as a corporate director for numerous Canadian subsidiaries of global companies and held volunteer leadership roles, including director positions on a large private school board, a foundation board, and the fundraising and stewardship arm of a federal political party.

Sander’s professional excellence has been recognized nationally and internationally. He is consistently ranked as a leading lawyer in mining and energy law by Chambers Global, Lexpert, and The Legal 500 Canada, and was named Mergers and Acquisitions Lawyer of the Year (2024) by the Americas M&A Atlas Awards. In 2023, he was appointed King’s Counsel by the Lieutenant Governor of Ontario.

A parent of rowers and a lifelong supporter of Canadian sport, Sander brings a passion for advancing the sport’s growth and accessibility across the country.
