RCA Board of Directors Update

The Rowing Canada Aviron Board of Directors (“RCA Board”) would like to provide an update to our rowing community on some recent board membership changes.
Three members of the RCA Board tendered their resignations last week including Director at Large, Dr. Jane Thornton, Dr. Jennifer Walinga and Provincial Director Carol Hermansen. We would like to extend our appreciation to Jane, Jennifer and Carol for their extensive service to rowing in Canada.
The RCA Board will be launching a Call for Expressions of Interest for two Directors and will be appointing the Nominating Committee to prepare a list of candidates. As per the RCA bylaws, the Provincial Director will be appointed by the Provincial Advisory Council. The Council is planning to meet on Wednesday to determine next steps.
We invite all those interested in contributing to developing rowing in Canada to express their interest once the process is formally launched.
We also wanted to acknowledge that we are aware that both misinformation and disinformation are circulating amongst the rowing community related to the RCA Board and leadership. We encourage anyone to reach out to discuss your questions or concerns. We welcome an open and respectful dialogue with everyone.
