Montréal Aviron 1976–2026: Registration Now Open and Event Overview

Rowing Canada Aviron (RCA) and the Association Québécoise d’Aviron (AQA) are proud to announce that registration is now open for Montréal Aviron 1976–2026, a landmark celebration marking 50 years since the 1976 Montréal Olympic Games. The event will take place from July 30 to August 1, 2026, at the Olympic Basin, Parc Jean-Drapeau, Montréal, QC.
This special anniversary will bring together Olympians past and present from around the world, alongside Masters rowers, for on-water and off-water activities in a spirit of celebration.
Participants and guests will enjoy a full program of rowing and social events that honour the legacy of rowing in Montréal and the enduring spirit of the Olympic Games.
The event celebrates 50 years of women’s rowing at the Olympic Games and the 25th anniversary of the 2001 World Masters Regatta. From the opening ceremony and coastal rowing experience as part of a mixed coastal relay, to the Heritage 76 celebration and “Row with an Olympian” sessions, it promises a vibrant mix of sport, history, and community.
Traditional rowing shells and coastal rowing boats will be provided free of charge for all participants.
This event promises to be a memorable gathering that celebrates the heritage of rowing and the enduring bonds within the global rowing community. Participants are invited to join in this once-in-a-generation event and be part of a historic milestone for the sport.
