Join us for an engaging session with Ann Pegoraro on the State of Sport


This March, discover how global and national trends are reshaping sport in an engaging session with Ann Pegoraro, one of Canada’s leading voices in Sport Business and Leadership. 

This session identifies the key trends impacting sport in Canada and globally. Ann will provide evidence behind the trends and identify challenges and opportunities for the sport sector. This talk starts from macro global trends, moves to key trends in Canada and then into specific trends impacting sport. The latter part of the presentation talks about the transformation of sport, from the structure of sport on the field to the governance of sport off the field. 

Member organizations looking to transform their approaches, starting from a foundation of data-informed trends, will benefit from insights shared from this session. 

This session is open to delegates of the 2026 RCA National Conference and all others in the Canadian Rowing Community.  

This session will be hosted on Wednesday, March 25, 2026, at 4:00 pm PT/5:00 pm MT/6:00 pm CT/7:00 pm ET/8:00 pm AT/8:30 pm NT

About Ann Pegoraro, PhD (She/Her)

Ann Pegoraro is the Lang Chair in Sport Management in the Gordon S. Lang School of Business and Economics and the Director of the International Institute for Sport Business and Leadership, all at the University of Guelph. A holder of BA, MBA, and PhD degrees, Ann is an active researcher whose research primarily focuses on emerging issues in sport management. Ann is also a life-long sports enthusiast, transitioning from playing to coaching and now teaching and sharing her knowledge and experience where possible. Ann has consulted with sport organizations in Canada and abroad, including the Canadian Paralympic Committee and several Canadian NSOs. She is passionate about contributing to the sport sector to ensure access for future generations.
