Jennifer Casson sets ergometer world record

Jennifer Casson (Kingston, ON) set a lightweight 6000m ergometer world record (19-29 age group) this week with a time of 21:43.9 (unofficial).

Casson set the record during an erg test at the dome at the Pacific Institute for Sport Excellence in Victoria, BC. Concept 2 will soon confirm that she has broken the previous record of 21:56.7 set by Michelle Sechser of the United States.

This is the second ergometer world record for Casson, as she also holds the current lightweight 2000m ergometer world record (19-29 age group), which she set in June 2018.

Casson has competed with the Canadian Senior National Team since 2017, and most recently placed eighth in the lightweight women’s double with Jill Moffatt at the 2019 World Rowing Championships.
