Head Coach Phil Marshall departs Rowing Canada Aviron


Rowing Canada Aviron (RCA) announces that Phil Marshall has made the decision to move on from his position as National Team Head Coach.

RCA would like to thank Phil for his extensive contributions to the National Rowing Teams, most recently coaching the Olympic women’s pair to a bronze medal at the Tokyo 2020 Olympics. Phil previously worked as Head Coach for the U23 men’s lightweight program from 2013-2015.

Most recently, in his role as Head Coach, Phil was instrumental in helping to establish a more unified coaching team and a shared approach to high performance programming.

RCA shares our appreciation and gratitude for Phil’s significant impact on the organization and the development of high performance rowing in Canada. There are many coaches, staff and athletes that have benefited from his wisdom, his kindness and his great sense of humour.

We wish him the very best in his future endeavours.
