For Giving Tuesday, Avalon Wasteneys gives thanks to the Canadian Rowing Community for its continued support towards Paris 2024

On behalf of the National Team, the Tokyo Olympic gold medallist says thank you to the nation’s rowing community support and engagement as the crews take aim at a massive 2024 season.

To the Canadian Rowing community,

As a proud member of the National Rowing Team, I wanted to take a moment to express my appreciation for the vibrant rowing community we have and your engagement in our journey. Your involvement, whether through support or simply being a part of our community, has been invaluable. It’s through this collective spirit that we’ve achieved significant milestones, including securing a spot for the Women’s Eight to compete in the upcoming Paris Olympics next year!

As we narrow our focus to standing on the podium at the 2024 Games, I would like to invite you to help fuel this final leg of our journey by supporting our Breakfast Program. Your support will be instrumental in ensuring our success and will forever be a significant part of our Olympic narrative.

The transformative impact that donors have on us athletes does not go unnoticed or unappreciated — without financial support, we know that we would quite literally be unable to be here. I vividly recall the overwhelming sense of gratitude I felt when we clinched the gold medal in the Women’s Eight at the Tokyo Olympics. That moment was a culmination of the support from every person, coach, friend, family member, and donor who contributed to making my childhood dream a reality.

Please consider supporting our Breakfast Program to help give us the fuel we need as we enter the final stretch of preparation for the Paris Olympics. I’m thankful for the support we’ve received from the community and the foundation of encouragement it has provided. I hope that you’ll take part in continuing that support for me and my teammates because your contribution goes beyond financial aid; it is an investment in the dreams of athletes, making it possible for us to strive for greatness. Your generosity has the power to transform dreams into reality, and we are immensely grateful for any support you can provide.
