2025 RCA Programming Updates

Rowing Canada Aviron (RCA) would like to share changes regarding our programming for the 2025 season.

As a result of the upcoming federal election on April 28th, approval of federal funding for National Sport Organizations has been delayed.  At present, RCA does not have a clear indication of Sport Canada funding allocations or a clear timeline of when the funding will be issued. These financial implications will affect upcoming programming for the entire organization, including RCA domestic and high-performance activities. Certain organizational activities will be paused or scaled back significantly for the time-being. We have ensured minimal disruption to RCAs standard member services.

As a result, we will see the following shifts for the upcoming 2025 RCA high-performance season:

  • Prioritizing performance boats for World Cup and World Championships
  • Smaller team sizes and/or shorter durations at Senior, U23, Junior, and FISU events
  • Additional focus on competing at domestic regattas

While financial realities have shifted our plans in 2025, we remain on a path to achieving sustainable podium performances.
