Victoria, BC – April 29, 2026 – Rowing Canada Aviron (RCA) is pleased to announce a new partnership with Active Tools, a leading innovator in rowing equipment and technology. This collaboration will support Canada’s national team athletes with advanced performance tools designed to optimize efficiency and on-water results.
“The Cox Orb has been my trusted companion through countless races and training sessions,” says Kristen Kit, Canadian coxswain and multi-time Olympic & Paralympic medalist. “I decided to give it a try because I was looking for improved sound quality for my crew— the women demand the best of themselves, so it’s only fair I do the same for my own performance. Just like the rowers, I need to trust my equipment to be reliable in the most high-pressure moments. I made the switch in 2023 and haven’t looked back. The Cox Orb helped me steer the crew to medals in our 2023 and 2024 seasons, including Olympic silver. I am really excited for this partnership because now the whole team has access to what I believe is the best and most intuitive technology on the market.”
Since its founding in 2002, Active Tools has been dedicated to developing exceptional equipment for rowers. The company’s product line includes Coxorbs, performance monitors and rate meters, rigging tools, telemetry systems, and rowing shoes, all engineered to meet the demands of elite training and competition.
Joe Edwards, Operations Director at Active Tools, spoke about their mission and the partnership, saying, “At Active Tools, our focus has always been on developing the best possible equipment for rowers and coaches. We’re excited to partner with Rowing Canada Aviron and support their athletes and staff as they continue to pursue world-class performance.”
Active Tools’ commitment to continuous improvement and athlete-focused design aligns closely with RCA’s mission to provide Canadian rowers with the tools and environment needed to perform at their highest level.
