RCA is pleased to confirm that this year’s CanAmMex Regatta will take place from July 2 to 8. This event will be hosted by Brentwood College School, Victoria City Rowing Club and the Municipality of North Cowichan, with training camps held at Quamichan Lake and racing at Elk Lake.
“We’re pleased to be able to host this year’s CanAmMex Regatta,” said Terry Dillon, chief executive officer, RCA. “This regatta provides our junior rowers with valuable racing experience and an introduction to international competition, supporting the development of our next generation of rowers. We’d like to thank the hosts for all of their work ahead of the regatta and look forward to great racing this summer.”
This year’s event has several key supporters who are providing a variety of assistance to ensure a successful regatta. Brentwood College School will run camps and provide logistics support and North Cowichan will host pre-event training. Victoria City Rowing Club will serve as regatta host, running the event alongside the 2017 Challenge West and B.C. Championships.
The CanAmMex Regatta is held annually, with hosting rotated through Canada, the United States and Mexico. Racing is contested in 12 events – single sculls, double sculls, pair, quadruple sculls, coxed four and eight for both men and women. The CanAmMex Regatta was last hosted in Canada at Locahber Lake, Nova Scotia in 2014.
The CanAmMex Regatta is hosted with support from the Government of Canada.
