Canada’s para-rowing team competes at the World Rowing Championships, the Paralympic Games and some World Rowing Cups. Para-rowing is currently divided into five boat classes: LTA Mixed Coxed Four, LTA Mixed Double Sculls, TA Mixed Double Sculls, AS Women’s and Men’s Single Sculls. Races are held over 1000 metres for all five events.
It was first held at the Paralympic Games in Beijing in 2008. Canada won its’ first medal – a bronze – at the 2016 Paralympic Games in the LTA Mixed Coxed Four.
